Post 5 - Hollow Vessels


 Hollow Vessels

The creation of hollow vessels for post 5 was a process quite enjoyable for me.

After learning the ways of their creation from the video provided, I was able to come up with 14 different objects using a variety of different techniques. 

My favorite was the simple "loft" tool, through which I could connect two fun shapes together, to form an exciting solid which I then capped, exploded, and took the top off of.

Although many of the shapes created were interesting, I especially enjoyed the ones where I rotated my lines by 90/180 degrees.




Final Work 







To makes things easier, in the creation process each of my shapes were assigned their own layer with a differet colour. This proved to be especially helpful when joining/exploding my vessels.





To finalize all of my shapes and give them a sense of unity, I made sure to render them using the same material and colour. 

Overall the creation process was very enjoyable and a great learning opportunity. The ability to combine two lines together in multiple fashions and learn how to cap them will surely prove helpful in my future projects.  

I enjoyed this creation process altogether, as the exploration of new tools proved to be fun and intriguing. I find the videos provided very helpful to my learning and am looking forward to the next post.

 Post 7 - Papercraft Preparation, Unfolding. In preparation for our papercraft project, it is necessary to first learn the proper ways to unfold figures in Rhino. For this assignment, we are required to create figures and unfold them in Rhino, as a means of practice and experimentation. Post 8 - The Red Iron Blade

  Papercraft Project - The Red Iron Blade. pt.1 The Red Iron Blade is a video game weapon from a popular MMORPG game in Europe, Metin2. I chose this blade for my project because the game has played a significant role in my childhood, and why it was so great. Because the Red Iron Blade is one of the most prestige weapons for level 30, for my younger self and my friends, having it was the ultimate goal. (as we had 0 clue what we were doing and could not get past level 30 at the time.) My character holding the Red Iron Blade I began my creation by tracing an image of the sword in rhino, and developing a proper outline. Post 6 b. - Concept Sketches

  Post 6 b. - Papercraft Concept Sketches Developing a proper concept sketch is one of the crucial aspects of creating something new. This is especially important in a craft, where uncertainty can not be hidden behind the two-dimensional curtains of a drawing or a painting. However, in order to create a figure visible from all angles, I first need a proper baseline. After all, If you want to write a book, you need to know what you're writing about.
